Special Educational Needs & Disabilities Co-ordinator (SENDco)
Danielle Peacock
I am the SENDco at Dan Dans. I have 21 years’ experience of working with children with SEN.
I feel that parent partnership is paramount to your child/ children’s individual development, and I am here to support you and your child/children alongside your child/children key person with any concerns you may have about your child/children.
This could include any aspect of their development such as sleep, behaviour, eating, language, and communication.
I work closely with you, (parents/carers and families) alongside your child/children key person to identify any additional educational needs and implement strategies and next steps to support your children and their development at nursery and at home. If further support or advice is needed from outside agencies when supporting your child, this will always be discussed with you first.
We pride ourselves on the level of personal support that we provide to our children and their parents/carers and families, from a listening ear to accompanying and supporting parents at appointments and meetings
We are very experienced with childhood trauma and all staff have had trauma training to the highest standards here are a few resources to help support children with past or present trauma.
We understand that all children are individual and display different behaviours at different points in their development, with this in mind we actively promote positive behaviour. These are some of the strategies we use:
- Sharing is caring
- Great turn taking
- Kind hands
- Visual supports e.g timer/reward chart communicate in print
For any further information regarding promoting positive behaviour please contact us and we will be happy to discuss any questions or queries you may have.
